During the drilling process, effective sealing of small cracks near the wellbore is one of the effective methods to avoid wellbore instability. To achieve effective sealing of nanoscale pores in shale formations, nanoscale sealing materials must be used. At present, asphalt and emulsified paraffin sealing agents are commonly used in drilling engineering both domestically and internationally. These materials have larger particle sizes and have better sealing effects for formations with larger crack sizes. However, they cannot form a size match with small cracks and cannot form a good internal mud cake, so they cannot effectively seal micro fractured formations. In view of the problem that the pore size of shale formation in Jidong Nanpu oil field is nanometer and micrometer, and the traditional solid particles above micrometer are difficult to achieve effective plugging, the use of nanometer drilling fluid plugging agent and environment-friendly deformable polymer plugging agent has significantly improved the high-temperature and high-pressure filtration, sand pan filtration and mud cake pressure bearing capacity. The research results indicate that the drilling fluid with the addition of nano sealing agent can achieve a high-temperature and high-pressure filtration rate of 17 mL, and a sand tray filtration rate of 14 mL, both of which are the minimum values. Moreover, it can effectively improve the pressure bearing capacity of the mud cake to more than 9 MPa.
